REDS Institute: brief presentation

The Reconfigurable & embedded Digital Systems (REDS) institute is part of the School of Engineering and Business Vaud (HEIG-VD), a member of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO).

The team is composed of 4 professors and around 20 engineers, gathering together multiple Ra&D skills in the domain of Pervasive systems (see definition below).

The activities of the institute are organized among two strategic axes:

The institute is active on these domains by means of industrial contracts, federal (CTI) co-financed projects and european projects.

A Pervasive System is an embedded system endowed with communication capabilities and advanced functionalities, like self-configuration, self-organization, self-adaptation. It is aimed at fast processing thanks to its hardware acceleration and self-organization features, without requiring the use of a central server for an appropriate working.
